Construction began Oct. 19 for Hilltop Grand Village, a new 40,000-plus square foot resort-style retirement community for independent adults in Wisconsin Rapids.
A ceremonial ground-breaking was held on Nov. 3 with the professionals who helped make the project a reality as well as local officials.
Hilltop Grand Village will offer 40 units, including two-bedroom, one-bedroom and studio apartments. The residential care apartment complex will take about nine months to build and has a tentative move-in date of Aug. 1 for residents. The core of the building will feature an indoor streetscape, dubbed Broadway, with a movie theater, pub, swimming pool, salon, bistro, pet spa, exercise room, greenhouse and more.
“We are thrilled to have this project finally under way,” said owner Anita Whetstone. “We wanted a beautiful place where people could retire in style. Hilltop Grand Village will help meet the needs of the mature sector with a touch of class in our community.”
Hilltop Grand Village will offer three chef-prepared meals a day for residents, weekly light housekeeping and assistance with some personal care, if needed. Activities will be geared to a variety of interests, from art and music to sports and the outdoors. Excursions and trips will be offered. Common areas along Broadway will encourage residents to make friends with their neighbors and enjoy the spirit of community.
